Lieutenant Colonel Dawn Lake spent over 25 years in the US Military, in both active duty and reserve status. She has served all over the world, to include as an intelligence analyst on the DMZ in Korea, as an advisor to Federal Agencies in America’s War on Drugs, in the Pacific as an electronic warfare specialist, at West Point as a professor of English, at Fort Bragg as a paratrooper in the Army’s elite Airborne Corps, and in Southwest Asia as a special advisor to the Commanding General in the Global War on Terror. In this unusual capacity as a female officer in a male-dominated service, Dawn has some unique things to say about leadership and about the women of Afghanistan.
